Alex joined Reavey Law after clerking with the firm for a year while finishing law school. He graduated from Bradley University in 2015 and from UMKC School of Law in 2025. During law school, Alex gained experience in a range of constitutional and employment matters. He spent his 1L summer with the Kansas Justice Institute (KJI), where he worked on cases involving property rights and government overreach. While there, Alex helped to draft the federal appellate brief in a successful challenge to warrantless inspections of a family-run dog kennel, and assisted in a zoning dispute that led the City of Ottawa, Kansas, to revise its urban farming regulations to allow citizens to run home-based honey and gardening businesses.
During his 2L year and the following summer, Alex clerked for Baldwin & Vernon, a plaintiff-side employment firm in Independence, where he worked on whistleblower retaliation and discrimination cases. He began clerking at Reavey Law in October 2024 and joined the firm as an Associate Attorney after becoming licensed in 2025. Alex works on a variety of employment matters, including FMLA claims, retaliation, disability and pregnancy discrimination, wage and hour issues, and other workplace disputes.
Outside of the office, Alex works as the play-by-play broadcaster for the local professional hockey team, the Kansas City Mavericks, the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken. He has been calling hockey games professionally for several years and originally got his start by creating the broadcast program for Bradley University’s club team. Alex lives in the Northland area with his wife and their two young daughters.
